When Amanda decided to refurbish her master bathroom, she knew it wasn’t going to be a straightforward update. The project involved a complete redesign of the space, transforming the eaves and window area into a new striking shower enclosure. To finish the room properly, she needed a bespoke shower screen – and a company she could trust to deliver.

We recently caught up with Amanda to discuss her renovation project and the experience she had with the team at Pinefield Glass…
The challenge
The bathroom renovation was bold and ambitious, extending into the eaves and window area to create a new shower enclosure. This called for creative thinking, particularly when it came to enclosing the space with glass that would fit the angles precisely.
To make matters more frustrating, Amanda’s contractors had already been let down by two different glass companies, causing significant delays to the project.
Amanda says: “Although the shower technically worked as a wet room, we chose not to use it because of the amount of cleaning needed after each use. The whole project had been going on for almost 9 months, and we just wanted it finished properly.”

Why Pinefield Glass?
After the second company failed to deliver, Amanda turned to family for advice.
“I had actually been speaking (or moaning!) to my dad after the second company let us down and he suggested I contact Bryan at Pinefield Glass. My dad has known Bryan for years, so I knew I could trust him not to let us down like the other companies had.”
That recommendation proved to be a turning point for the project.
The project
The job required a completely bespoke shower screen to suit the unusual shape and layout of the bathroom. While the original idea was to create the shower screen from a single piece of glass, access to the bathroom via narrow stairs made this impossible, so the team moved to plan B – constructing the glass in two pieces.
“Bryan was honest from the very start,” Amanda says. “He explained that although one piece would look spectacular, it was more than likely going to need to be done in two sections. We appreciated that we weren’t given false hope, and we were delighted that they were happy to take on the challenge, as even with it being in two pieces it was still a complicated and intricate job.”
The final design involved two large panes of glass, fitted into a metal channel and supported with a ceiling-mounted strut, all precisely cut to accommodate the angles of the ceiling and the boxed-in area below.

The process
Throughout the full process, Amanda found the experience of working with Pinefield Glass straightforward and stress-free. After months of delays with other suppliers, the clear communication and reliability of the Pinefield team really stood out.
“They were very professional from start to finish,” she says. “Everyone I had contact with, whether over the phone, email or in person, was friendly and helpful, and kept me informed about the progress and timings for any visits and fitting.”
“They didn’t make promises they couldn’t keep,” Amanda adds. “They explained everything clearly and gave me a really good picture of what the finished result would look like.”

The results
Once the final shower screen was installed, the bathroom transformation was finally complete.
“We are delighted that we can finally use the shower in our master bedroom! Luckily we had other showers in the house we could use until this one was fully finished. The screen finishes off the room perfectly. It was already quite a bold and ambitious project that looked amazing, but the glass just adds that final layer of luxury.”
As well as delivering on aesthetics, the screen has performed exactly as expected in terms of practicality, safety and day-to-day use.
“Pinefield made the whole thing easy and straightforward. After such a long renovation, that was exactly what we needed.”
