When Richard and wife, Elaine, from Keith decided it was finally time to replace the tired, 30-year old windows in their home, they turned to Pinefield Glass. The results? A stunning transformation that not only refreshed the look of their property but also improved overall comfort and energy efficiency.
The challenge
Richard and Elaine’s windows had certainly seen better days. “Handles were broken on the inside, one of the bedroom windows wouldn’t seal closed properly which caused draughts and the outside uPVC was worn and dated,” Richard explained.
The need for new windows had been on the cards for a few years, but with broken seals and others becoming stiff to open, the time had finally come to upgrade.
Why Pinefield Glass?
Choosing a company for such a major investment isn’t easy, but for Richard, the decision was clear. “It was family who recommended Pinefield Glass as they’d had previous work carried out by them. Elaine and I were really impressed with the difference in their home and the quality of the finish. Also, Pinefield offered a really competitive price for the standard of windows and workmanship, which ultimately led to us getting in touch with them.”
The project
The job at Richard and Elaine’s home involved replacing 12 windows in total, four of which were bay windows, with golden oak uPVC frames and white internal trims and sills. The Pinefield team removed all the old windows and installed new ones within just four days.
Despite an unexpected challenge – a section of the roof that needed replacing – the project stayed on schedule. Richard said: “There were unforeseen circumstances with part of our roof being rotten and needing replaced, although this did not affect the Pinefield team at all. They worked seamlessly alongside the other contractors and still got the job done on time.”
The process
For Richard, one of the standout aspects of working with Pinefield Glass was how easy everything felt. He said: “Communication was smooth, efficient and hassle free. From the first contact to arrange measurements right through to the finished job, the team were all so professional. We had a quick install date and timescales were met.”
Elaine was equally impressed by the attention to detail: “We couldn’t fault the workmanship at all. The workmen were all really friendly and left no mess – really tidy work and the way the windows fit around the stonework looks great.”
The results
The results speak for themselves as the transformation to the property has been remarkable. Elaine said: “It’s an incredible transformation to the overall look of our house. We love the size of the large middle panes in our bay windows – they bring in so much more light compared to our old ones and we’re really impressed with how far the side bay windows open out.”
Beyond aesthetics, thermal performance has been just as important. She added: “We no longer have draughts in the bedroom windows, which will make a huge difference to our energy bills in the winter. The white interior trims also really brighten up the rooms and look great, especially in the kitchen.”
Richard added: “Working with Pinefield Glass completely exceeded our expectations. The speed of the whole process really stood out and the quality of the windows and tidiness of workmanship has been second to none.”
For Richard and Elaine, the investment has enhanced both the appearance and comfort of their home – proving why Pinefield Glass is trusted by so many homeowners across the North East of Scotland and beyond.
